Finally some NorthWest swells arrive, the wind plays ball and......., the screws from my foot are gone!
Great to be out in the water again! even tough only for 15 min...Managed to capture the essence of the day.
Hasn't been that great. Not for waves....not because a broken foot. My right one. Tried to go in the water but the screws in my foot are killing me when I try to fit in my fins. The doc said I need to wait for 2 more weeks before he can drill them out....here's a new post to that!
Monster, little peak.
A Storm runs through, destroys half of Dutchland, but leaves something beautiful as well...Enjoy!
Nepal is going through a great tragedy at the moment. The Earth trembled, lives were lost and treasure gone...forever.
Please help the people of Nepal anyway you can, whether it's a donation or just a friendly loving message on social media to support the people of Nepal.
I've been so lucky to visit this great nation exactly one year ago and make the great trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. Being able to capture this stunning land and it's remarkable people in photographs, please let these photographs help you see what I saw and what it is like to experience this nation in all it's glory. Let it motivate you to help the Nepalese people to overcome this dark moment in their lives...
Tenerife is not really a place I would have imagined to visit...too many tourists. But life decided otherwise and I ended up staying on the Island for a week.
Can't say I didn't enjoy myself. Beautiful Island, great scenery and fun surf on top of that.
Just a few snapshots from a week in april in Tenerife.
It's that time of the season, air warms up, days are longer and there's something in the air....
It's time to go surf...!
A local surf comp over the last weekend...Double Trouble at Ter Heijde, Zuid-Holland.
The surf was 'so so' but there was great fun to be had in the water!
Just a few snaps from 2 heats. It was just too bloody freakin cold in the water....
Just finished a session at 'The Vorstin' in Hilversum, photographing the Amber Roots swing band. These guys are awesome and rock it, big time.
Casper, on percussion, invited me over and I decided to take some photographs of the band doing their thing on stage. Check it out!
Yet another 'epic' dutch surf weekend....I can't believe we got this day so soon after last weeks incredible surf. I didn't get to go out and do watershots, but a few landscapes this time. This spot has some good potential, somewhere in Zuid-Holland 8th of February.
Amazing surf weekend down here in our cold little country, for what it's worth, an epic day for our standards. There was a crowd though, must have been fifty guys out at Scheveningen Noord with some very good rides being made... Let's hope we'll see some more of these days this year, if so...I'm out there!
#This is Iceland
A 3 image impression of the (still) active Bardarbunga Volcano in Iceland. There's still much worry about it's activity increasing and causing a meltdown of the overlying glacier. 2 Scenario's are possible, one is that the activity decreases until the lava flow stops and the level subsides. Scenario 2 is more dramatic including a meltdown of the glacier, a major eruption of the likes that will stop life as we know it in Europe. (No kidding)
For now, it's a waiting game, but it sure is a pretty sight while we're waiting...
I've been on previous dive trips before, but this time it was different...
I knew about Malaysia, and I knew about Mabul and Sipadan, but nothing had prepared me for what we really were about to witness. The diversity and overwhelming scale of life under the ocean's surface in these waters has to be seen to be believed. Gigantic schools of Barracuda and Jackfish, amazing wall corals, blennies and gobies in every size colour and shape and the chance to see big pelagic like manta rays and even hammerhead sharks. 2 Weeks of dive-eat-sleep at Sipadan leaves me a changed man. Changed in a way that now I know that the underwater world is even more beautiful and exciting than I ever imagined. Changed in a way that now I know that we need to take responsibility and do our part to leave this world a little bit better than we found it. We need this place to be there for our kids and their kids after them...
I hope these images will convey some of the beauty I witnessed and will make others realise that the earth is worth saving.
November trip to the land of fire and ice…making new discoveries. See the world through my eyes.
Trying to re-motivate myself back into doing city photo work…Rotterdam is such a cool place, there's always something to photograph, you just have to find the right way to capture it. Here's one photo I took after climbing on the roof of a building nearby where I live. The views are pretty spectacular. The Swan Bridge is visible and part of the "Noorder Eiland".
My good friend and great person, Mr Ang
We did this session to try out some new techniques and some new locations. Good fun, and everyone was happy with the result!
Stormy skies over Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Spring always fires up the sky down here. The air just can't handle all that heat all that quickly….the show was spectacular.
A timeless moment minutes after sunrise, on the famous (or infamous) Mt. Taranaki, North Island of New Zealand.
